CATARACTS ORGANIZATION VERY DISAPPOINTED BY LEAGUE DECISON
Both the Cats organization and fans are very disappointed with the decision late this week by the League to take away two victories the team gained last month when two ECSHL teams visited G.F.W. on Jan.13/14th.
Through an innocent mistake by a team rep, who was filling in for the 'normal' person who files the weekly electronic list at HNL for that week's games - a changing roster list - did not notice that the name of a young Cats' call-up' for that weekend's games, Jarrod King, was on the team's Protected list properly, and on the intended Game Sheet list properly, BUT, totally un-intended, was not on the HNL listing for that week.
The submissions and explanations were pleaded by the team, when the mistake was brought to the attention of the team, that it was an innocent, non-impacting mistake that resulted innocently because the normal person who did the filings was out of the province that week, and no one else noticed the 'gap' in the filing. Despite the pleas the League took away the team's points earned.
The Ruling has a very negative impact on the Cataracts and all the efforts that have been made this season to get enough players for the roster, and the constantly changing call-ups and replacements needed, and now, (at this late point at the end of the season), the team is 'put behind the eight ball' in trying to finish positively , and needing to win every game as the season ends!
