SOUTHERN SHORE BREAKERS MAKING FIRST EVER VISIT TO GFW TO TANGLE WITH THE CATS.
The 'Southern Shore' has been icing great competitive Senior hockey teams now for more than a couple of generations. And, this weekend the fans in central can expect a real treat of fast, hard-nosed hockey at the Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium when the "Breakers" play the Cats.
The Breakers have gotten off to one of their fastest starts in years, having racked up four wins already in the early going of the "new" ECSHL. But, the new-look Cataracts will be ready when the two teams play on Saturday night, Nov.18th in GFW.
It is the Opening Home Weekend of games for the Cats and the team is expecting a good turn out of fans to cheer them on. Rodi Short is back in great form accumulating a five point weekend last weekend in Clarenville, along with the re-dedicated Michael Hynes who also had a similar productive start to his season. Michael has told the Cats organization that he will be playing "full time" this season, as he is back home on the island after working in Labrador last winter.
OTHER CATS BACK
Andre Gill, the veteran leader, and almost the full core of last year's Cats,(except for our beloved two imports Luke Gallant and Collin Cercelli), are all back and ready to play.
The JOE should be buzzing for Saturday's Opener!
